SATS for Year 6 Pupils
Standardised Attainment Tests (SATs) are taken by pupils during the final year in Key Stage 2. They provide a snapshot of your child’s progress at that moment in time. The tests in English and Maths are used to assess attainment in the new national curriculum and were recently overhauled in 2016 and are designed to be more rigorous in nature than under the previous system.
The tests cannot be ‘passed’ or ‘failed’; they simply provide an indication of your child’s attainment. The tests are statutory and are reported nationally.
This years tests take place the week beginning Monday 11th May 2020
However, it is important to note that the assessment of writing is completed throughout the year and the deadline for submission of this is much later in the year.
