We aim to enrich our curriculum by offering the children weekly enrichment sessions run by our support staff who draw on their experience and interests outside work to provide  a range stimulating and enjoyable activities. A different opportunity is offered every 5 weeks.

Enrichment Activities taking place around the School

Year 1 Pudsy Art

Year 1 have made Pudsy hats for Children in Need during this week's enrichment session.

Year 6 Games

Miss Read has been teaching the children a new card game in Enrichment each week. This week's game is 'Go Fish'

Year 2 art

Year 2 started a new session where we will be looking at the World of Little Miss and Mr Men by Roger Hargreaves. The children are going to be making a piece of artwork over the next few weeks and we started yesterday by painting Mr Tickle

Year 4 art

Year 4 have been making  wax and Brusho paintings with an oil pastel overlay in the Adire style.

Year 4 leaf animal pictures.

Dolphins class made animal leaf pictures as their enrichment activity.

Year 4 Aboriginal Art

The Year 4 children studied aboriginal art and then used cotton buds to paint their own aboriginal style tortoise painting with Mrs Nicholson.

Animal Art

Year 3 have been creating  Mondrian inspired animal pictures and Mono-printing butterflies and insects during their weekly enrichment session with
Mrs Nicholson.

Pebble Art

Mrs Nicholson has been running pebble art sessions with the children which they have really enjoyed.

Mindfulness and Wellbeing

Mrs Stacey has run enrichment sessions centred around mindfulness and wellbeing.
The children are taught various self-help techniques to enhance their wellbeing. These include progressive relaxation, mindfulness meditation, yoga and Qigong. Throughout the sessions, the children focus on positive aspects of their lives for which they are grateful.  Together they have created a 'Gratitude Tree', which is now on display in the school's atrium.
