Welcome to Carlton Colville Primary School

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I am delighted to welcome you to Carlton Colville Primary School. We hope you find our website clear, informative and easy to navigate.  It is designed to give you a flavour of the vibrant life of our school, the work of our pupils and the quality education we strive to deliver.

We are a friendly, caring school with high expectations of all our pupils. Our children are encouraged to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. The staff endeavour to provide a calm, yet stimulating learning environment where good behaviour and mutual respect is paramount and where everyone is valued.

Parents and carers play a very important part of school life and we value our partnership with them. We all share responsibility for the children’s education so that, as partners, we can promote high standards of learning, behaviour and attitudes to enable every child to reach their full potential.

I hope you enjoy finding out more about Carlton Colville Primary by browsing our website. You are more than welcome to visit us, see our school first hand and meet our friendly children and staff.

Mr. B Axon

    Sun Cream Reminder
Just a reminder about the use Of sun cream during the school day While sun cream should be applied before coming to school, we understand that some skin types require further application during the school day. For these children, an opportunity will be provided to apply their sun cream just prior to lunch break. A staff member will supervise the children but is unable to assist them. Please send in their sun cream in a named bag and ensure your child is able to apply this themselves. Your child should also be made aware the sun cream cannot be shared with their friends (due to allergies/potential allergies.) The school’s nut policy must be adhered to as some children have airborne allergies. Please check the product information before sending in to school. Many thanks

    Bags2School Collection
Dear Parent / Guardian We are pleased to let you know that we have organised another clothes & shoe collection with Bag2School in order to raise funds for the school. Bag2School is the UK’s leading textile recycler and fundraiser working with schools and since its inception in 2001 it has now paid out over £36 million. As well as raising vitally needed funds for the school, it also helps the environment by helping to divert unwanted textiles away from landfill. A recent DEFRA report has shown that textile collection schemes are helping to reduce the volume of textiles discarded as municipal solid waste. However it is a fact that as a nation we still send 350,000 tonnes of textiles to landfill every year. By getting involved in our Bag2School collection, you have an opportunity to sort through your cupboards and wardrobes and donate unwanted textiles – this can include adults’ and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), hats, belts, handbags and soft toys, (please refer to http://uk.bag2school.com/ for full details). In addition to raising much needed funds it will also raise awareness amongst the children of the benefits of recycling and reuse. Please use any bin bag to donate your items and don’t forget to ask grandparents, friends and neighbours to have a sort out as well! Bag2School will be collecting from the school on Thursday 23rd May. Please bring your bag (or bags!) to the school office any time from 7th May and we can store them ready for the collection. Many thanks for your support.

    Online Library
As a school we have just signed up to a new online library run by Sooper Books. The site offers both digital and audio books and is another great way of encouraging children to read. Sooper books was set up by a couple after a successful pitch on the TV programme 'Dragons Den' with the mission statement to make books available to all children. Please take a look and remember children that read succeed! https://www.carltoncolville.suffolk.sch.uk/suffolk/primary/carltoncolville/site/pages/parents/https:sooperbooks.comfree-storiescode=bxiuz3jhagftqgnhcmx0b25jb2x2awxszxbyaw1hcnkuy28udws3d We would welcome feedback on this initiative from parents/carers via the school office (office@carltoncolvilleprimary.co.uk) Many thanks
