Physical Education

At Carlton Colville we really value the personal, social and physical benefits of Sport and PE. All of our children take part in outstanding PE lessons throughout the week – from gymnastics to Outdoor and Adventurous Activities. Our PE lesson adhere to the standards outlined in our Covid Safeguarding Policy and our Full Opening Risk Assessment.

We are currently developing our extra-curricular offer for sport and active enrichment. We encourage as many children as possible to take part in lunch, before school and after school clubs, many of which are led by our class teams of Play Leaders. Each week, children in Key Stage 2 compete within their class on a sporting challenged administered by our Play Leaders.

As a school we promote respectful competition through our sports teams for all year groups in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This year we've been awarded the Your School Games Silver Award. This award marks our progress in growing the importance of Sport and PE across our school community.

Sports Leaders

On the 27th May we hosted our first North Suffolk orienteering competition in collaboration with North Suffolk Sport & Health Partnership.
12 of our Year 6 children represented our school and did incredibly well. This was a big success and the children were able to develop their skills and knowledge around map reading and strategy. Here are some photos from the orienteering event.
The next Sports Partnership event which we will be hosting will focus on Outdoor Adventure Activities specifically around den building.
