Standardised Attainment Tests (SATs) are taken by pupils during their final year in Key Stage 2. They provide a snapshot of your child’s progress at that moment in time. This year is the second year in which Year 6 children will take then new of SATs test. These tests in English and Maths are used to assess attainment in the new national curriculum, and are more rigorous then under the previous system.

The tests cannot be ‘passed’ or ‘failed’; they simply provide an indication of your child’s attainment. The tests are statutory and are reported nationally as well as being transferred to your child’s High School.
