Standardised Attainment Tests (SATs) are taken by pupils during the final year in Key Stage 2. They provide a snapshot of your child’s progress at that moment in time. The tests in English and Maths are used to assess attainment in the new national curriculum and were recently overhauled in 2016 and are designed to be more rigorous in nature than under the previous system.

The tests cannot be ‘passed’ or ‘failed’; they simply provide an indication of your child’s attainment. The tests are statutory and are reported nationally as well as being transferred to your child’s high school.

This years tests take place the week beginning Monday 14th May 2018

However, it is important to note that the assessment of writing is completed throughout the year and the deadline for submission of this is much later in the year.

Please see below for the information provided to parents at last year’s SATs meeting. A date for this year’s SATs meeting will be released shortly, however if you have any questions regarding the tests, please come and speak to Mr Head or Mr Rose.

New information for 2018 will be given after the parents SATS meeting on 27th February 2018 at 2.30 or 5.00pm and will be published here.
